In 1967, Kathrine Switzer was the first woman to run the Boston marathon. After realizing that a woman was running, race organizer Jock Semple went after Switzer shouting, “Get the hell out of my race and give me those numbers.” However, Switzer’s boyfriend and other male runners provided a protective shield during the entire marathon. The photographs taken of the incident made world headlines, and Kathrine later won the NYC marathon with a time of 3:07:29. I thank goodness I found a boy who loves me as I am.
Happy today :) (Taken with Instagram)
Wake up at 630-7, walk run for 30-60 minutes. If I work early, go immediately after work or have a rest day.
Eat almonds, broccoli, steamers meals, chickpeas, and lentil soup. Bring hummus, mushrooms, cauliflower, and fruit for snacks at work.
Do 100 pushups, ab workout, 100 squats daily. Do arms and legs each 1 to 2 times per week, I’m thinking Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
Bike a little most evenings.
I’m ready to feel better and more capable with my body.
This. This condenses something I’ve been trying to explain for a long time.
my favourite line in that demi song is “baby i’m not like the rest” yeah demi you’re just an able bodied privileged white teenage girl who doesn’t ever let anyone forget you have an eating disorder and depression you are just so unique you special little snowflake you
Hey guess what, demi doesn’t brag about her issues, she’s a role model for girls like her, girls like me.
